Georgi (19)

‘I left home when I was thirteen. In my mind I gave my mum an ultimatum. She had to choose me or my dad and even though she didn’t say it, it felt like she chose him. Her best friend told me: ‘Of course she’d choose your father. He was around before you were.’ It felt wrong she said that to me, but at the same time I understood. It meant that my mum was her own person, and I needed to become my own person too. And so I left.’
